Panasonic AG-UX180 4K Camcorder Overview
The AG-UX180 features a large, 1"-type MOS sensor that creates a dramatic bokeh with its wide-angle lens, and its focal length with 20x optical zoom ranges from 24 to 480mm. The camera's 5-axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer provides anti-shake correction for smooth movement, and the 3-ring lens design allows for precision iris/focus/zoom manual control. The shutter system functions in three modes—System, Slow, and Syncro Scan—which allow shutter speeds from 1/60 to 1/8000 sec. Four-step, built-in ND filters and variable gain settings allow for greater control over brightness and shutter.

Variety of Recording Formats
The variety of recording modes with selectable image quality, frame rate and bit rate settings are ideal for a wide range of applications, from cinema production to online distribution. Images can be recorded with a resolution of 4K (4096 x 2160)/24p, UHD (3840 x 2160)/60p or FHD (1980 x 1080)/60p. Versatile and easy-to-use MOV (QuickTime), MP4 and AVCHD file formats are supported.
IR (Infrared) Shooting in Dark Places
The IR Cut Filter can be turned ON/OFF (allocated on the User button). When the filter is turned OFF, IR lights (sold separately) can be used for shooting in dark places.
Variable Frame Rates
VFR (2 fps to 60 fps)
FHD VFR (variable frame rate) Recording: VFR recording can be set in 10 steps from 2 fps to 60 fps (60Hz) / 9 steps from 2 fps to 50 fps (50Hz).
Slow Motion
Super-Slow Motion (120 fps/100 fps)
Super-Slow Motion: Slow-motion effect can be achieved by highspeed HD recording at 120 fps (59.94 Hz) or 100 fps (50 Hz).
Dual SD Memory Card Slots
The AG-UX180 comes equipped with two SD cards slots, enabling options such as unlimited relay recording, simultaneous recording, background recording and UHD/FHD Dual Codec recording. Dual codec recording allows for simultaneous capture of UHD 30p and FHD, or FHD and FHD low bit rates, which essentially produces master and offline/proxy versions of footage. An efficient workflow can be achieved by using the Sub Rec File for tasks such as previews, offline editing and Internet data transfers.

The UX180 comes fully equipped to help provide you with the best possible colored image, featuring broadcast-grade camera image adjustments, such as 16-axis color correction. Easily match the look of any other camera you may be shooting with, and create your own scene files.

8-Mode Gamma
The AG-UX180 is equipped with eight selectable gamma modes, including two Cine-Like Gammas, drawing on technologies developed for the VariCam.
Versatile Professional Interfaces
Equipped with the features you would expect from a camera far more expensive than this one, the UX180 comes with a 3G-SDI output for connecting to an external 1080/60p recorder, a TC preset in/out terminal for time synch/synchronized multi-camera recording, two channels of XLR audio input for professional high-quality audio recording and HDMI output for on-shoot 4K video monitoring.
ROP iPad App: Wireless Camera Operation
The AG ROP app for iPad is available free of charge from the App Store. It enables wireless remote control of the AG-UX180, with installation of a wireless module (optional AJ-WM50/AJ-WM30). In addition to a multitude of control functions, such as camera settings, picture quality adjustment, REC start/stop and menu setting, the AG ROP app allows control of the UX180’s internal lens for remote operation of the i.Zoom, zoom and focus. It also displays a thumbnail view and a preview view, so sub-recording clips can be displayed as thumbnails and previewed on an iPad.
