Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens Overview
Striking close-ups. Gorgeous portraits. Brilliant street shots. This compact and lightweight Z series 50 mm full-frame Micro lens brings out the beauty in even the most ordinary subjects. You can shoot true macro images where small subjects and details are captured at a 1:1 life-size ratio, or you can use it for everyday photography.
There’s so much more to see
The NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 mirrorless lens captures super-sharp shots, even with the front of the lens just centimetres away from your subject. Use it for life-size (1:1) macro photography and marvel at the details you reveal. Or take advantage of the classic 50 mm focal length and natural perspective to shoot anything from portraits to street scenes.
Follow your curiosity
Step back to get more of the view. Move closer to bring out the details—of anything that catches your eye. Superior optics and the f/2.8 rounded 9-blade aperture will put your subject in focus against a smoothly blurred background.
Tack-sharp up close
Patterns and textures. Shapes, forms, and colours. With a minimum focus distance of just 0.16 m, you can achieve sharp focus even when the front of this macro lens is just about 5 cm away from your subject! In-camera VR keeps shots steady.
A fresh perspective
The compact build makes this a perfect walkaround lens, while its light weight comes in handy for taking shots from above. From enticing food photography to top shots of flowers and cobblestone streets, there’s no muscle ache here.
Precise, easy control
Whether outside exploring or at home in your kitchen, this lens makes it easy to delve into macro photography or shoot everyday movie clips. You can control aperture, ISO, and more via the silent control ring, and instantly switch between manual and autofocus via the lens. Near-silent focusing won’t startle any insects or small animals.
Truly versatile
From life-size macro shots to more distant views, the NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 lets you capture brilliant results in diverse situations. Compact and lightweight, it balances beautifully on both Z series full-frame and DX-format cameras.
